Q2 Instagram audit: What to check on your profile this quarter

At the start of every quarter, I recommend doing a quick Instagram audit.

Think of it like a business check-in, but for your profile. Your business evolves, your offers evolve, and your Instagram should evolve with it.

Here’s your Q2 Instagram audit checklist.

1. Update your display photo

Your profile photo is usually the first impression someone has of your brand.
Ask yourself:

  • Is it clear and high quality?
  • Does it look like you / your brand now?
  • Is it on-brand?
  • Would someone recognise this photo if they met you in real life?

If you’re a personal brand, your face should be clearly visible. If you’re a business, your logo should be clean and easy to read in a small circle.

2. Refresh your name and bio

Your name field and bio are two of the most important parts of your profile.

Your name field should be searchable. That means it should include what you do, not just your business name. For example:

  • “Ela Mazur | Social Media Strategist”
  • “Pelvic Floor Physio | Pre & Postnatal Coach”
  • “Wedding Photographer Perth”

Your bio should clearly explain:

  • What you do
  • Who you help
  • How people can work with you

If someone landed on your profile and had 5 seconds to decide whether to follow you, would your bio make sense to them?

3. Check your links

This sounds simple, but it’s something many people forget.

Click every link in your bio and check:

  • Do they work?
  • Do they go to the correct page?
  • Are they still relevant to your current offers?
  • Are you sending people to the most helpful page (not just your homepage)?

Your link should lead people toward working with you, joining your email list, or learning more about your services.

4. Consider getting verified

If you are eligible for Instagram verification, it can be worth considering. One of the biggest benefits is extra account support and protection.

You might never need it — but if your account ever gets hacked or you lose access, having that extra support can make a very big difference.

5. Do a security check

This step is very important and often overlooked.

Log into your Instagram settings and check:

  • Is your email address correct?
  • Is your phone number correct?
  • Is your date of birth correct?
  • Is two-factor authentication turned on?

These details are what help you recover your account if anything goes wrong. Make sure everything is up to date.

6. Review your pinned posts

Your pinned posts should act like a mini website for your Instagram profile.

When someone new lands on your page, your pinned posts should quickly tell them:

  • Who you are
  • What you do
  • What you offer
  • How they can work with you

If your pinned posts are random or outdated, this is a great time to update them.

Final thoughts

Before you focus on posting more content, make sure your profile is actually set up to convert visitors into followers, and followers into clients.

Because there’s no point growing your account if your profile doesn’t clearly tell people what you do and how to work with you.

Small profile updates can make a big difference to how professional, clear, and trustworthy your business appears online.

I recommend putting a reminder in your calendar to do this at the start of every quarter — Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4.

It’s a simple habit, but it can have a big impact on your business.
